1. Ameel Brecht - The Locked Room Purple / Sleep Ebbs - Play Dead
Recorded Live on April 28th 2023, at MILL (needcompany), Brussels

A performance in two parts: In the first, using themes on steel mandolin and harmonium, Ameel Brecht explores how memory and perception of time interact and influence each other. This first part (The Locked Room Purple) was inspired by a one-time live accompaniment to the François Reichenbach short film and visual diary "Nus Masculins".
The second part (Ebb of Sleep-Play Dead) explores sleep as a unique terrain of dissociation, time alienation, and vulnerability.

slowly, over the surface, currents follow one another in an infinite chain of partial deaths.
mysterious transformation. everything changes, everything is in ceaseless motion.
solid crust rupture in the cloud belt imprints its initial speed.
whirlwind of activity, alternately filled and emptied, breaks down to resolve into infinite space.
spit it out.
